Welcome to the first issue of ReloAdvisor’s quarterly newsletter: Ra Network. Through these pages we will bring you a regular diet of news and views from the world of lead generation in particular, and relocation in general. In this issue we will focus on our annual get-together, Held in Lisbon in February, and the sponsors that made it possible.
It was in 2022 that Marco Maruccia and his team organised the first ReloAdvisor networking meeting in Rotterdam. Two years later it’s expanded to involve over 120 people from all over the world. This year it migrated from its traditional home in The Netherlands. But that’s not all that was different….
“This year we wanted to go a step higher,” said Muhammed Can, ReloAdvisor Marketing Manager. “So we chose Lisbon in Portugal where the weather is warmer in February.” Muhammed explained that the early-season date worked well as it avoided a clash with any other international industry event. “Lisbon also has direct flights from most European cities, so it’s easy to get there.”
Another change was the introduction of ‘speed dating’. Unlike many one-on-one meeting formats, this was designed to give all attendees the opportunity of spending 10 minutes with everyone else. The appointments were all booked by ReloAdvisor with the intention of putting people together who may not themselves have chosen to meet. “These 10 minutes together bond people and makes them strong, even if they are already working together,” said Muhammed. “If we make sure everyone meets everyone else, we have done our job.”

Wiebe van Bockel, Chief Commercial Officer for Voerman Group, provided the keynote speech to open the meeting in Lisbon. Wiebe had his eyes focussed clearly on the future offering his thoughts on efficiency, technology, AI and sustainability. He encouraged people to get involved with the industry, listen to young people as it is they who will lead us into the future, and not to ignore sustainability. “If you are not operating sustainably by 2030 you will be out of business,” he said.
An interview with Wiebe, looking at the future of moving in more detail, will appear in the next issue, in June.
